Draft for review. This page is a starting template based on how the salon operates. Please review the wording (and have it checked if needed) before the site goes live, then remove this note.

My Place Hair & Beauty (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Information we collect

We may collect the following information when you book, contact us, or visit the salon:

  • Contact details - your name, phone number, and email address.
  • Appointment details - the services you book, your preferences, and relevant notes about your hair, skin, or treatments.
  • Payment information - processed securely by our booking and payment providers. We do not store your full card details.
  • Website usage - if analytics are enabled, basic, de-identified data about how visitors use this site (pages viewed, device type, general location).

How we collect it

We collect most information directly from you - when you book online, call or email us, or visit the salon. Some website usage data is collected automatically through cookies and analytics tools when those are enabled.

How we use your information

  • To provide and manage your appointments and services.
  • To respond to your enquiries and contact you about your bookings.
  • To improve our services, salon experience, and website.
  • With your consent, to send you news, offers, or reminders. You can opt out at any time.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the trusted providers that help us run the salon and this website, including our online booking system (Client Diary), our payment processor, our website host, and - where enabled - analytics and advertising tools such as Google and Meta, and our online shop provider. These providers may handle data outside Australia; we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled responsibly.

Cookies and analytics

This site may use cookies and analytics to understand how visitors use it. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies will not stop you from using the site or booking an appointment.

Keeping your information secure

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, and to keep it only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law.

Your rights

You can ask us to access or correct the personal information we hold about you. To make a request, or if you have a privacy concern, contact us using the details below. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

Children’s privacy

Where services are provided to a minor, we collect information from a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children without consent.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page, with the date it was last updated shown above.
